Continuing Medical Education

Improving minds and valuing hearts

Continuing medical education (CME) is defined as "an educational activity which maintains, develops or increases knowledge, skills or professional performance and relationships that a clinician uses to provide services for patients, the public or the profession." (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education - ACCME)

Increasingly, there is an obligation for clinicians to incorporate learning into their role beyond qualification as an ongoing process that continues throughout their professional careers. At its best, CME should be a cycle of identifying learning needs and meeting these needs with appropriate programmes. At Ogilvy 4D we have extensive experience of developing CME programmes for UK, European and global audiences. We use a variety of approaches to meet clinical needs, including symposia and new media, and work with international CME accreditation organisations and in many therapy areas. This is overseen by our internal Accreditation and Compliance Officer.
